A Celebration of the First Year

Here is a slideshow I put together to celebrate Mason's first year. Enjoy!

1 year old!

Mason turned one this past Saturday...as I've said before - how time flies. We had a wonderful birthday party and he had a great time. We had a 'summer fun' type theme...he thoroughly enjoyed his first sweets....a piece of cake (or two) and ice cream. We had the party outside and it was pretty windy, but at least it didn't rain. Here are some photos from the day.

Welcome!

My BFF of 25 years -Beth- welcomed her second baby boy to the world today. His name is Finley Leo and he is a cutie! Congratulations Burke family!

A few days, a few steps

Mason will be turning one in just a few days...how is that possible? The last year with him has flown by. Just tonight he took his first step. And then a few minutes later he took another...there will be no stopping him now!

Over Father's day we took the boys (including Milo) on their first camping trip. It was AWESOME! We went on a hike, went fishing, ate hot dogs...it was great. On this trip Spencer caught his very first fish....on the first cast of the day no less! He ended up catching 8 (yes, I said 8) fish in one afternoon - can we say superstar?!! We had so much fun we can't wait to go again.

This last weekend we went to Custer State Park. It was a perfect day! The weather was great, we had a picnic, and we saw all of the animals we had hoped to see (buffalo, donkeys, antelope and some others).

At one point we had quite a few buffalo that were very close to us. I tried to convince Micah to get out of the car while holding the boys and stand as close as he could to one so I could get a photo but.... he opted out. Just kidding! We're locals...we know better! But seriously, there must have been 10 people out of their cars with their kids just a ways from a HUGE buffalo and we thought forsure there was going to be some traumatic memories for the boys. What are people thinking?! But luckily nothing dramatic happened (at least while we were present).

Since we didn't get the up-close-and-personal buffalo photo here is another from the day. Where will we go next???

20 seconds...

Ever wonder what can happen in the span of 20 seconds? Well, here is at least one example. This wasn't the first time and it wasn't the last time....Mason finds great joy in pulling all of the diapers out of the changing table and cracks up (almost in hysterics) when Spencer and I come to put them away. We've decided it's time to move the diapers at this point....sorry Mase, you'll have to find a new source of entertainment.
